Science Lab explosion: Surgery of DU student who received head injury completed

Surgery of Noor Nabi, a Dhaka University student who received head injury while standing on road during an explosion in front of a three-storey building near Science Lab intersection, has been completed.

Noor Nabi is now under observation.

Professor Dr Ashit Chandra Sarkar, Head of Neuro Surgery Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), confirmed the news on Monday.

In addition, Dr Md Alauddin, a resident surgeon of Emergency Department, said apart from Noor Nabi, there are three more victims of the same incident have been admitted to DMCH.

Another Science Lab victim who admitted to popular Hospital have now been shifted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Among the victims, Akbar Ali received 37 percent burn injuries, Ayesha Akter 38 percent and Juhur Ali 44 percent, have been kept in postoperative ward while Ashrafuzzaman received 6 percent, Hafizur Rahman 8 percent and Swapno Rani Saha who shifted from Popular Hospital received 13 percent burn injury.
